Therefore, enabling consumers of such streaming products, services and solutions a fair market where they are not bamboozled and forced to over spend on non-essential items.

Myth #1

It requires two servers to stream if I want to give internal users the ability to watch a clients own video.

False - Don’t be fooled into buying a second server at a hefty price. Many companies may tell you that an additional server to act as a stream replicator is needed to watch videos internally. The fact is a single server is all you need when properly configured. Just ask our clients.

Myth #2

Windows Media or Silverlight is the best and most compatible streaming format.

False - Flash has a ubiquity rate of 99% vs. 70% for Windows Media. Flash has also proven itself as the format of ubiquity choice from such vendors as YouTube, Google Video, Facebook, Hulu, CNN, ABC, NBC/Universal and even Microsoft's very own MSN. In addition HTML5 compatible H.264 format Swagit has offered since 2007.

Not to mention Windows Media Player compatibilty issues with any operating system other than Microsoft Windows.

On March 4, 2009, Stephanie Mlot of the Frederick County Maryland Daily Newspaper reported on streaming services for a city that was using a solution that utilizes only the Windows Media format. In reference to the Windows Media Player, Mlot reports, "Only Internet Explorer has the option of clicking directly on specific sections; on the Apple-based browsers, scanning the video bar is not available."

"The Flash player is installed on about 98% of Internet-connected computers, according to Adobe, and it is used for more than 75% of all videos on the Web and 90% of interactive advertisements." - 02/11/2010 Wall Street Journal

Myth #3

Swagit’s "Hands-Free" service still requires a client staff member to push a start or stop button or perform timestamping of video.

False - Our solution is completely "Hands-Free" and requires no staff to operate a single thing or take part in a single process like timestamping. We are in fact the only company that does it all for you, thus requiring the need for no additional staff or staff time to operate and post streaming video.

Myth #4

Swagit doesn’t integrate agenda or provide document management with their video.

False - Although our background is in Video first and foremost (shouldn’t that be your first priority when looking for a streaming solution?), we provide agenda integration in two forms. First, a client’s agenda is cross-linked within the player in .pdf, .doc, .rtf or html format. Secondly, we also display all individual agenda items and their corresponding text with the each individual video clip.

However, if video streaming is not your first priority and you are actually looking for a full end-to-end document creation and management system with the added bonus of streaming video, then ask a Swagit sales representative about a solution we sell and certify our streaming solutions with.

Myth #5

Size doesn’t matter

False - Size does matter! Larger video and agenda view areas allow for those who normally need glasses or have trouble seeing the details, the ability to see a client’s content more clearly. Our content is 57% larger then our competitors.

Recently we have seen some of our competitors' video appear larger. Look closer and notice the video's properties and you will see they are just stretching the video image from 320x240.
